Dave Whiner blah blah blah. As insufferable live as he is on the web.

i like him on the web, "twitter as a coral reef" etc., but that was quite boring. you should join the backchannel at irc://irc.freenode.net#leweb3 btw, good chat there.
Highlight of the interview was when he was prattling on about this cool app he was building - it is a screensaver which displays photos using RSS feeds. The someone in the audience pointed out that Google built that ages ago. "Oh?".
Somethings he says are interesting..i like some of his thoughts...some he sounds like an annoying grump.....i still subscribe to his blog....and i dont like anyone :)
I have always believed you are who you are when you were 10. Drill back into Dave's NYC background, then walk those streets and discover there are many people with upfront attitudes in some neighbourhoods. I have managed cockpits with that same attitude flying in the next seat and even though it wasn't clap-happy, it was productive flying. I write this because when online, we often play the man, not the ball.
Well telling people to fuck off on stage and telling others their questions are stupid so he is not going to answer them is just being a spoiled brat. Past performance is not an indication of future returns :-)
I've followed Dave and used many of his tools for about 10 year, but don't anymore. Main reason is they're all built on the Frontier core which isn't Unicode compliant, making them useless to me. Personally I felt Dave jumped the shark with TwitterGrams, but who knows.
Ah I kinda liked Twittergrams, Seesmic isn't wildly different from it. We've sweated a lot of bullets over Unicode in the past few months. Sad that he can't see beyond mainland US borders for language. The old lûwts ;-)
We've had our share of problems due to the various layers in the software from MySQL up to the templating system having inconsistencies. Last few niggles should be finally sorted by January.

I'd have been shocked were that not so. Everything he is to the inch of depth that he has is there on the blog.

i think he just has way too much time on his hands to go on the way he does....or maybe that he's just an inveterate attention seeker..

@conoro We're singing the same Shabbat about stage performances. But gentle collegiality is more difficult the longer you remain a target.

RMS causes the same reaction in some people but at least he keeps a low profile in general.

Doesn't RMS wear sandals? Maybe that's the solution to barking on stage.

I believe RMS sings badly at events :-)

@walter : i think there's a difference between attention seeking for a product/service/company vs. me me me ....dont' you?

On that, I was stoked that LouderVoice handles it well and passes it to WP without problems. Kudos.
